Roger Cornett

Distinguished Alumnus Roger Cornett, Class of 1955

Roger Cornett graduated from Richmond High School in 1955 and from Earlham College in 1959 with a BA in business. He began working for Belden Corporation in Richmond in 1960 and continued until 1991, serving as president. He then was elected as Mayor of Richmond in 1992 and served one term, leaving in 1996.

He continued in private business and served on many boards and was a consultant for the city of Richmond, Indiana.   He credits Martin Luther King and former Mayor Byron Klute as his role models.
