Brandon Griffis

Distinguished Alumnus Judge J. Brandon Griffis, Jr., Class of 1944

J. Brandon Griffis, Jr.,  was born December 27, 1926,  in Dayton to J. Brandon, Sr., and Helen Childs Griffis. After graduating in 1944, Brandon received his BA from Earlham after attending Ohio State University.  He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He began private law practice in Richmond, becoming a Wayne County Superior Court judge for twenty years.

He was a member of the Richmond Rotary Club and served as the chairman of the Wayne County Republican party.  He served on the advisory board of the Richmond Police Department, editorial board of the Palladium–Item and board member of Hayes Arboretum.  He was also a Mason.

He was married to Virginia L.
