Distinguished Alumnus C. William Mercurio, Class of 1958

After graduating from high school, Mecurio earned a degree in industrial management from Purdue University in 1962.  He served four years in the U.S. Navy, graduating from Officers Candidate School.

His current position is that of President/CEO of Plastic Trim, Inc., located in Beavercreek, Ohio, which is a leading manufacturer of exterior trim for vehicles for Chrysler, Ford, and GM.  Products include glass reveal moldings around windshields and moldings around glass and the body.  The sales and engineering offices are in Southfield, Michigan.  The company has been the recipient of many awards.

Mercurio serves as a member of the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce board, the Beavercreek School Facility Steering Committee, and the People Representing Interest in Developing Education (PRIDE) which is a group of concerned Beavercreek citizens working toward improving the educational system there.  He is a member of the Business and Community Leaders Round Table and a member of the University of Dayton School of Engineering Advisory Council.  He has been awarded the Business Person of the Year award by the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce and was the Dayton Business Reporter’s Business Executive of the Year for the Miami Valley.  In 2002, Mercurio received the Outstanding Engineer and Science Award by the Affiliate Societies Council of Engineering and Science Foundation.
